Don’t Kiss The Unicorn
3-Episode TV Pilot
OPEN FOR OPTIONS

I have had so much fun experimenting with a new medium—creating a three-episode TV Pilot called Don’t Kiss the Unicorn.
In a bid to break free from the suffocating routine of suburban life, a married couple opens a Pandora’s box of hidden desires, threatening their sense of self and the fabric of their family life.
At its core, this series is about the struggle for identity and authenticity within the confines of social constructs such as monogamy and parenthood. It boldly explores the internal battle that ensues when people become parents as they try to find a way to honour their masculine/feminine existence beyond their roles as maternal/paternal carers.
It examines how, when parts of our identities are hidden away, secrets become ingrained within a family structure and the consequences of confronting or ignoring them. The narrative uses symbolic elements like wedding rings, mobile phones, and booze bottles to underscore themes of commitment and secrecy and how they are woven into our days.
I aim to create a reflective and provocative narrative, encouraging viewers to question not just the characters’ choices but also their own truths, relationships and the compromises they entail.
Through this script, I invite the audience to consider what it means when they say “I love you” and whether this statement accepts the other’s authenticity or is conditional upon maintaining appearances.
